Mackenzie Davis, CFA
MacKenzie is a Managing Partner of SailingStone Capital Partners LLC, where he is an investment analyst and portfolio manager. Prior to founding SailingStone in 2014, MacKenzie was an investment analyst at RS Investments and co-manager of the RS Global Natural Resource strategies. Previously, MacKenzie was a high yield analyst at Fidelity Management & Research Company, where he focused on distressed investment opportunities in the telecommunications, power and energy sectors. He started his career as an analyst at Goldman Sachs. MacKenzie holds AB's in mathematical economics and modern American history from Brown University and is a CFA charterholder.
Brian Lively
Brian is a Partner of SailingStone Capital Partners LLC, where he is an investment analyst and portfolio manager. Prior to founding SailingStone in 2014, Brian was an investment analyst at RS Investments for the RS Global Natural Resource strategies. Brian was formerly Managing Director, E&P Research at Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co., where he served as global head of upstream research. Previously, Brian was a vice president and team leader at Netherland, Sewell & Associates Inc. and a senior project engineer at Exxon Mobil Corporation. Brian holds a BS in petroleum engineering from Louisiana State University and an MBA from the University of Houston.
Ken Settles, CFA
Ken is a Managing Partner of SailingStone Capital Partners LLC, where he is an investment analyst and portfolio manager. Prior to founding SailingStone in 2014, Ken was an investment analyst at RS Investments and co-manager of the RS Global Natural Resource strategies. Previously, Ken was a senior vice president at Neuberger Berman, where he was a senior energy analyst and co-manager of the Neuberger Berman Premier Energy Portfolio. He started his career as a financial analyst at Salomon Smith Barney. Ken holds a BA in economics from Williams College and is a CFA charterholder.
Tobin Gelbs
Tobin is an Associate of SailingStone Capital Partners LLC, where he assists as an investment analyst. Prior to joining SailingStone in 2021, Tobin held various roles in production engineering, operations, and planning for BHP including leading a field-based operations teams in an unconventional asset and acting as the single point of contact for deepwater installations. Tobin holds a BS in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M University, has passed the CFA Level III exam, and is pursuing an MBA from Rice University.
